Tomorrow Friday the 10 of September – A Malta selection led by the I&J boxing club of Mosta will take on a UK selection led by Crawley amateur boxing club.

The action will be happening at the “Grand Hotel Excelsior” there are seven Olympic boxing fights on the card.

This is the third encounter between selections from these two clubs and at the moment each side has won a tournament. In 2007 the Maltese won the first meeting and this was followed by a return tournament in 2009 which was won by the Crawley team.

The Maltese team is fielding such boxers as Zak Farrugia who earlier this year took a bronze medal at a top international tournament in Morocco and Haithem Laamouz who participated in the last world boxing championships, also the experience Mark Anastasi.

The Maltese boys have been in intensive preparations for this club international tournament.
