USA VS CHINA DUAL MEET ANNOUNCED FOR OCTOBER 1ST -- IT'S USA VS. CHINA IN NEW YORK CITY... DINO DUVA AND GLOBAL SPORTS & ENTERTAINMENT ANNOUNCE HISTORIC AMATEUR BOXING SHOWDOWN WHEN “EMPIRES COLLIDE” ON FRIDAY NIGHT, OCTOBER 1, AT “CAPITALE”; CHINESE TEAM INCLUDING OLYMPIANS ARRIVES IN NEW YORK ON SEPTEMBER 10 TO TRAIN AT FERNWOOD IN POCONOS
Boxing promoter Dino Duva begins phase two of his long term cooperation with the Chinese Boxing Federation as he and Global Sports & Entertainment today announced a blockbuster, 13-bout amateur boxing card featuring the best Olympic hopefuls from China taking on USA’s finest when “Empires Collide” on Friday night, October 1, at Capitale (130 Bowery) in New York. It could very well be a preview of the 2012 London Olympics with fights in 10 men's and three women's weight classes.

USABOXING ANNOUNCES DATES FOR 2011 USA BOXING SENIOR NATIONAL CHAMPIONSHIPS With the schedule request approved by the United States Olympic Training Center, we are pleased to announce that the National Championships will be conducted in Colorado Springs March 20 through March 27, 2011. The event will be very similar to the recently completed 2010 Championships, with preliminary bouts being contested at the Training Center and the Championship Finals held at a local Ballroom.
High Performance Director Anthony Bartkowski is now prepared to finalize the “Road to London 2012” competition schedule and this will be posted early next week. The Women’s and Men’s schedules will differ as AIBA has scheduled different qualifying events and procedures.

"TURKISH BOXING FEDERATION CUP,” will be held between the 24-26 September at the Ankara Şefik Trigger Boxing Hall.
“TURKEY KULÜPLERARASI BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS” will be held at TOKAT'da between the 17 to 21 October 2010.
THE TURKISH INDIVIDUAL OLYMPIC BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS for seniors will be held between the 20 to 26 December in Mersin - Competition weights are: 49 Kg. 52 Kg. 56 Kg. 60 Kg. 64 Kg. 69 Kg. 75 Kg. 81 Kg. 91 Kg. and the +91 kg. – The bouts will be held under AIBA rules and regulations and duration is 3x3 minute rounds.

WOMEN'S WORLD BOXING CHAMPIONSHIPS will be held in Barbados, starting on the 9th of September. These 2010 World Championships are the largest ever held for women, with over 300 boxers from over 80 countries registered to compete, and are being held just under two years from women's debut in the 2012 Olympic Games.

EMPOWER YOUR COACHING - The ABAE is holding a national seminar for qualified female coaches who wish to develop their coaching skills and contribute to the growth of female boxing. The event will be held on the 25 of September, from 9 AM to 4 PM at Tamworth ABC, Sandy Way, Amington, Tamworth, Staffordshire.

BOXING AT THE EXCELSIOR MALTA I & J Amateur Boxing Club will be organising their annual boxing event on Friday 10th September 2010 at The Grand Excelsior Hotel.
This event will feature a number of bouts where a selection of Maltese boxers will be competing against their English counterparts from Crawley Amateur Boxing Club. A number of bouts will also be featuring local boxers competing against each other. The event is sanctioned by the Malta Boxing Federation.

ROGGE SAYS YOUTH OLYMPICS TO HAVE BETTER ATHLETES - Better athletes will be coming to the next Youth Olympics, IOC president Jacques Rogge said shortly after the end of the first edition of the Youth Olympics.
The Youth Olympics, were dominated by China, which won 30 gold medals and 51 overall. Russia was second with 19 gold medals and South Korea was third with 11.
The United States won only four gold medals, and U.S. Olympic Committee chief executive Scott Blackmun said earlier this week that scheduling conflicts had kept some top American athletes from competing in Singapore.

IRISH CHIEF HICKEY HOPING TO LIGHT UP DUBLIN WITH OLYMPIC TORCH VISIT - FOR the first time the Olympic Torch could be carried through the streets of Dublin if negotiations between the London 2012 organising committee and the OCI President, Pat Hickey, reach a successful conclusion.

AIBA SIGNS TV DISTRIBUTION DEAL WITH TOTAL SPORTS ASIA - AIBA has signed an agreement with Total Sports Asia (TSA), Asia’s leading integrated sports marketing agency, for the distribution of its flagship Olympic boxing events worldwide. These rights include television, broadband and mobile rights. TSA will offer the AIBA World Championships 2011, which be held in Baku, Azerbaijan next year, with coverage from the semi-finals and finals. Other events on the AIBA calendar are the President’s Cup, the European Elite Championship and the continental Olympic qualifying events.

WELSH BOXING NEWS - The Amateur Boxing Association of Wales have elected Francis Terrance Smith as its new chairman. AIBA President Dr Ching-Kuo Wu has congratulated the newly-elected Chairman of the Welsh Amateur Boxing Association, Mr. Francis Terence Smith, on behalf of the entire AIBA family in a letter dated the 6th September.
In his letter Dr. CK WU, wrote that he was confident that the elections were in full compliance with the Welsh Boxing Association constitution and that he is very happy that the Welsh ABA has elected such a leader who will bfurther enhance boxing programs in Wales.
