Stevenson vs. Gonzales - Voluntary IBF #2 Eliminator
Present And Future Title Considerations

Adonis "Superman" Stevenson versus Jesus “El Martillo” Gonzales has present and future title considerations. On the 18th, Stevenson's IBF Intercontinental Super Middle Weight belt is at stake and the winner gets a promised shot at IBF Super Middleweight Champion Lucian Butte who fights out of Montreal.
Stevenson (16-1) was born in Haiti and now lives in Quebec, is coming off a sensational ninth-round technical knockout victory over Aaron Pryor Jr. last month for the North American Boxing Association ("NABA"), North American Boxing Organization ("NABO") and International Boxing Federation ("IBF") Inter-Continental super middleweight titles. Stevenson is rated No. 8 by the World Boxing Association (WBA), as well as No. 15 by the World Boxing Council (WBC) and the IBF.
Gonzales, also a southpaw, holds a record of 27-1 and the 27 year old American who hails from Phoenix, Arizona, is rated No. 12 by the IBF and No. 14 by the WBC. He is riding a 10-fight win streak into the Feb. 18th fight. Gonzales has been boxing since the age of 8 years and both his parents are involved in boxing; he was a great amateur and is a former U.S. National Champion. In March 2011, Jesús defeated Dhafir Smith in a unanimous decision to become the IBF North American Super Middleweight Champion and on July 8, 2011, became the new NABF Super Middleweight Champion, by beating tough veteran Francisco Sierra.
Many of Canada's best boxers will be in action February 18, on the stacked "Fast & Furious Boxing Series" event, presented by Mise-O-Jeux and Videotron, at the Bell Centre in Montreal.
