Women`s Boxing To Debut At Commonwealth Games
Women`s boxing to make debut at Commonwealth Games

The Commonwealth Games Federation`s general assembly in St. Kitts and Nevis has agreed to include three weight categories of women`s boxing for the future editions of the Commonwealth Games.
The development follows the inclusion of women`s boxing in the Olympics in which it makes its debut next summer at the London 2012 Olympic Games, AIBA said it was delighted to welcome this new step in the development of the sport.
International Boxing Association (AIBA) president Dr Ching-Kuo Wu has also welcomed the move,
"By having taken this decision, the hopes and dreams of many young female boxers will come true after their lifetime ambitions to win medals at the Commonwealth Games were made possible," Dr Wu said.
"Hundreds of women are training very hard to compete at national, continental and international level and I am convinced that a lot of these women will relish competing at the Commonwealth Games," he added.
