Gloden Gloves 2010HOLLYWOOD — Olympic dreams are being born and maintained at a grassroots level this week at a ballroom in the Hollywood Beach Marriott.

That's where the 2010 National Women's Golden Gloves Tournament, featuring more than 100 women from across the nation, is taking place. And many of the boxers, such as 17-year-old Johnna Willis, an Oakland Park resident and senior at Northeast High School, are locals trying to live a dream.

Although Willis lost Tuesday against Andrecia Wasson, the top-ranked fighter in the 132-pound open division and the defending champion at the U.S. Nationals, Willis said she still has designs on an Olympic berth.
